Angul: In a significant stride towards local development, nine infrastructure projects were inaugurated in the Angul district by Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation-Gramya Vikas Trust (GMDC-GVT), a CSR wing of GMDC. These projects, which collectively cost approximately 50 Lakhs, have brought a wave of enthusiasm and gratitude among the local communities.
The inauguration ceremony, held in Chhendipada and Machhakuta Panchayats, was graced by Smt. Sumitra Sahu, Block Chairperson of Chhendipada, and Brigadier Manu Mehrotra, GMDC Project Head of Baitarani West Coal Mine, Angul. The event saw participation from key local leaders including Manoj Kumar Sethi, Sarpanch of Machhakuta, Sumant Behera, Chhendipada Panchayat Samiti Member, and Romachal Khamari, BNB Project Manager, along with many villagers who expressed their happiness over the development works.

Mahamayee Mandap Construction: This new community space will serve as a hub for cultural and social events.
Boundary Wall of Chhendipada Shiva Temple: Enhancing the security and sanctity of this revered religious site.
Renovation of Patharmunda Community Hall: Providing a refreshed space for community gatherings.
Renovation of Kumbhar Sahi Community Hall: Ensuring a better facility for local events and activities.
Renovation of Tailik Samaj Gruha: Revitalizing another important community venue.
Projects in Machhakuta Panchayat
Boundary Wall of Machhakuta UP School: Improving the school’s infrastructure for a safer environment for students.
Boundary Wall of Podapada Kali Temple: Protecting and preserving this local temple.
Yesterday, additional projects were inaugurated in the region, including the renovation of Podapada Sahi Community Hall in Machhakuta Panchayat and Sapoi Sahi Community Hall in Chhendipada Panchayat.
These projects, spearheaded by GMDC-GVT, reflect the organization’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and the sustainable development of the areas it serves. The collective efforts of the local panchayats and GMDC-GVT have significantly contributed to the betterment of the community, fostering a sense of pride and joy among the villagers.
